Whirling apple parings,
By Dorothy Brown Thompson
See the costumes we have on,
(This poem may also be sung to the
My Haunted House
There's a bat beside the fireplace.
There's a creepy crowd at my house.
Goblins on the doorstep,
Phantoms in the air,
Owls on witches' gateposts
Giving stare for stare,
Cats on flying broomsticks,
Bats against the moon,
Stirrings round of fate-cakes
With a solemn spoon.
Figures draped in sheets,
Dodging, disappearing,
Up and down the streets,
Jack-o'-lanterns grinning,
Shadows on a screen,
Shrieks and starts and laughter
This is Halloween!

Time to play Trick or Treat.
Pumpkin time is here again,
Our spooky friends we'll meet.
Monsters, ghosts, goblins too.
See the costumes we have on,
Hear us all shout "Boo!"
tune of "Mary Had A Little Lamb")
By Virginia Obrecht Dulworth
There's a ghost outside the door.
There's a skeleton in the closet,
and a spider on the floor.
There's a pumpkin on the stair.
There's a monster in the bathtub,
and a black cat on the chair.
I'm the witch they want to meet.
It's Halloween at my house,
and we're going to TRICK or TREAT!!
