Poetry of Love and Friendship

I put my hand in yours
and together we can do
what we
could never do alone.

No longer is there a
sense of hopelessness.

No longer must we
depend upon our own
unsteady
willpower individually.

We are all
together now, this family,
reaching for power
and strength greater
than our own.

And
as we join together,
We find
love and understanding
beyond
our wildest dreams.

(Thank you Brian you will always be a special friend)

A Poem

Some people may find love every other day
And promise their love a lifetime of fulfillment with
the words they say
But in their heart they know it will never do
Since love is not love unless it completely true
True being you take care of them when
They feel sad and need the shoulder of a friend
Someone who they know they can count on
Knowing as long as they have you they will never be alone
True to me means giving every thing
you have to make her smile
Just to show her she makes your day worth while
Always giving and never wanting to receive
Is the path to love in which I believe
If only I had love then
maybe this I could share
But when it comes to that I have no prayer

"Love and Friendship"

I love you, not only for what you are,
But for what I am when I am with you.

I love you, not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what you are making of me.

I love you for the part of me
That you bring out;

I love you for putting your hand
Into my heaped-up heart
And passing over all the foolish, weak things
That you can't help dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked
Quite far enough to find.

I love you because you have done
More than any creed
Could have done to make me good,
And more than any fate
Could have done to make me happy.

You have done it without a touch,
Without a word, without a sign.

You have done it by being yourself.

Perhaps that is what
Being a friend means
After all.
